A quick, friendly guide to getting into TaxLayer safely — and what to do if something goes wrong. You’ll create your account, confirm your email, and sign in on a trusted device in just a couple minut

🚀 What you’ll do now (2–3 minutes)

  • Create your account with a work email

  • Confirm your email (activation link)

  • Sign in and land on your dashboard

Why this matters: Email confirmation prevents spoofed accounts and keeps client data safe.


✍️ Create your account

  1. Go to Sign Up.

  1. Enter First name, Last name, Work email, Password.

  2. Click Create account → you’ll see a “Check your email” notice.

Password rules (must-have):

  • 8+ characters

  • At least 1 uppercase letter

  • At least 1 number

  • At least 1 special character (e.g. !@#?$)


✉️ Confirm your email

  1. Open the confirmation email (check Spam/Junk if you don’t see it).

  2. Click the Activate link to complete signup (links expire for security).

  3. You’ll be routed back to TaxLayer and into onboarding.

Didn’t get the email?

  • Wait 1–2 minutes, then refresh inbox.

  • Check spam, promotions, and any security filters.

  • If it expired or never arrived, try signing up again to receive a new link.


  1. Enter your email and password (case-sensitive).

  2. (Optional) Remember me on personal devices for fewer logins.

  3. Click Continue → you’ll land on your Dashboard or the onboarding flow if you’re new.

🔐 Security note: We use secure, hashed passwords and encrypted sessions. Your password is never stored in plain text.


🛟 Troubleshooting (fast fixes)

“Invalid email or password”

  • Re-type password (avoid paste errors and hidden spaces).

  • Check Caps Lock and keyboard locale.

  • If you recently confirmed email, refresh and try again.

“Email not confirmed”

  • Click the link in your confirmation email.

  • If it’s expired, start signup again to get a fresh link.

“Can’t create a session” (or stuck at sign-in)

  • Ensure your browser allows cookies & local storage for the app domain.

  • Try incognito/private window (disables extensions).

  • Disable ad/script blockers for the site temporarily.

  • Try another browser (Chrome/Edge/Firefox/Safari latest).

If nothing works: contact Support with your email, browser + version, device/OS, and any error text you saw.


  • Use a unique password for TaxLayer.

  • Only enable Remember me on personal, secure devices.

  • Log out on shared or public devices.

  • Report any suspicious login activity to Support immediately.


❓FAQs

Do I need to confirm my email every time?

No — just once when you create your account. After activation, sign in normally.

Why can’t I log in right after signing up?

Your account isn’t active until you click the email confirmation link. Check inbox/spam and try again.

Can I use password managers?

Absolutely — we recommend it for stronger, unique passwords and fewer typos.

Is “Remember me” safe?

Yes on personal devices. Avoid it on shared/public machines.
